John Campbell has over 40 years of experience in commercial litigation including real estate disputes. Recently, Campbell worked with San Diego’s Xpera Group to close a rare failure-to-disclose case over the sale of a 60-year-old La Jolla home.

Defects to the interior of the house were discovered after an inspection by Xpera Group that was unknown to the buyer prior to the close of escrow. Campbell and Xpera Group President Ted Bumgardner obtained a rescission of the entire purchase price.

Under federal law, the ‘right of rescission’ protects consumers from dishonest lenders. It is rare for a consumer to receive a complete rescission of the real estate transaction. Campbell was able to provide his client a full refund of the original purchase price plus a portion of the buyer’s attorney fees and expert costs.
